Living room in our new house

We have been in our new house for now a week. I have the living room all set up looking like a home. The kitchen isn’t finished yet but getting there and the bedrooms are coming along great. We are so happy to be home owners and can’t wait until the house is perfect.
We won’t be working on the flower beds until fall, it is way to hot and if we plant anything now it will probably die. We have a pond in the back yard and love to sit outside and listen to the water.
The hardest thing for us was moving from a rent house that wasn’t it that great of shape but had almost 1700sft, to owning a house that is in great shape but only has 1468sft. We have way to much crap and I am going to be having a garage sale next weekend in hopes of being able to get rid of some of the crap.
We are doing great and just enjoying our home.

Home Owner

Erick and I can now say that we are home owners. We are so excited and love our house so much, the house is in a great town, safe neighborhood, and right by a great elementary school. What can I say we got lucky and will be moving at the end of the month.

I was over at the house today starting the cleaning process and for two gay guys the house isn’t as clean as what I thought. From 10:00 am to 6:30 pm today I have been mopping, vacuuming, cleaning counter tops, cabinets, windows, doors, bathrooms. I was only able to complete the kitchen,laundry room, dining room, living room and half of the bathroom. I believe the house hasn’t been mopped or dusted in probably the whole year they lived there. GROSS!

Tomorrow Erick is going to be able to come and help me finish cleaning the house then I am going to paint the kitchen cabinets and the bass boards in the house. The only room that we are changing the color in is the guest bedroom. A lot of work to be done and as I am doing all of it I keep telling myself that this is my house and everything I am doing is for me and not some landlord.

I will be taking pictures after we get moved in and everything is in its place.

Making Summer Plans

For some reason this week has been hard and tough. I just haven’t been in that great of a mood and I think it is because of everything that is going on. But now that it is Friday evening and I know I can sleep later then 6:00 am, I am happy and ready for tomorrow.

Next week is going to be another busy week with Erick and I closing on our first home. We are so excited I can’t even explain it and I don’t think it has really hit us yet that we are buying a home. This will be the home we spend our newly wed time together, have family and friends over, and hopefully one day start our family. I am still going back and forth on if I am going to paint but the color of the living room is a cranberry color that is growing on me but the dining room and kitchen I am not sure just yet if I am going to leave the burnt orange color or not. These colors are not what I would have picked out but Erick likes the cranberry in the living room. We will be doing a walk through again before closing and I will have more time to stand in the room, look around and really think about if I like the colors for not.

Also next weekend I will be making a trip to visit my in-laws by myself. Erick will be going to the lake with his brother and cousins, while they are having fun being boys. I will be with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law being girls. I am very excited about it and hope I do okay making the trip by myself.

I am also planning a trip later this summer to go and see a great friend of mine. I haven’t seen her in three years and just can’t take it anymore, so I am going to take another weekend away from Erick to have a girl’s weekend. I am hoping that everything works out and I will finally be able to see my friend and talk with her in person.

It sounds like my summer is going to be nothing but busy. I can’t wait though !

Taking Care of My Baby

Erick’s surgery was good! The longest ordeal that we had was waiting but at a hospital that is really all you can do. The doctor had him stay over night since his oxygen level was low after surgery and they wanted to monitor his heart over night due to him having sleep disorders. Yesterday I picked him up from the hospital and brought him home. He is very tired and goes in and out of sleep, I was able to look at his throat and oh my. No tonsil’s anymore but he has stitches in the back of his throat and on his uvula. He is on nothing but soft foods and taking liquid medication. I also have to cut his food up like if you where going to give it to a toddler. I can already tell that his breathing is a lot better, I can’t wait to see how this helps him out after healing.

I am doing very well and have started my diet and exercise back up and have already lost 2 pounds this week. I am on my way to getting slimmer,with the 2 pounds being gone now my total weight lose is 51 pounds in a year and four months. My goal now is to lose 21 more pounds, then when I meet that goal I will see about losing more. It is true what they say about losing weight you become addicted to weight lose and health living. I will post a before and after picture of what I have done.

Week Full of So Much

Monday has come once again but today wasn’t bad. Work went very well I was busy but not stressed which makes my evening so much better. Erick (the hubby) is doing okay, he will be going in for surgery to have his tonsils removed this Thursday. We are hoping that this helps him with being able to breath better since his tonsils are so big. He will be out of work for 2 weeks but trust me he will be so babied the whole time he is recovering. I will be at the hospital Thursday and am going to try to go to work after he is out of surgery. The doctor wants to keep him over night so I will have to pick him up Friday after he is released.

Tomorrow the house that we are working on buying is going to be inspected. We are hoping that the inspection goes well because we really want this house. We will know something by the end of tomorrow hopefully.

Besides that nothing much is going on just being healthy, working, taking care of each other, and the house, and the pets, and the possibly new home. Lets put it this way I am tired at the end of the day. I need to go and finish some laundry then I will sit down for a while before going to bed.

Getting Close to Being Home Owners

Last weekend Erick and I started the house hunting up again. Saturday we sent and looked at 14 homes in one day, and in a town close to were I grew up where the schools are very good, the neighborhood is safe, and there is everything around use. The house is smaller then what we would like sitting at 1468 squft. which means we will be down sizing around 200 squft. But the home is move in ready with up dates and beautiful french doors going to the back yard with beautiful landscaping. Two car garage with big bedrooms and the big plus for us two full bathrooms. Big enough dinning room for my table and a working fireplace, we just fell in love with this house the only thing we sould have to do is change the paint colors not a big deal. Well we made an offer on it and we just found out tonight that the sellers excepted out offer and now we are taking the next step to get closer and closer to being home owners. At this point everything is looking good but there is still time for it not to work out so cant get hopes up to high. I will keep everyone up dated.

I have pictures of the Honeymoon on my flickr so check them out. This morning I caught a 8lb Cat Fish, I was so excited this is the biggest fish I have ever caught before.
Erick and I have been having a great honeymoon, best trip ever. We are so happy.
